About me
I am a psychologist and psychotherapist undergoing the certification process, and I am also preparing to obtain the title of specialist in child and adolescent psychotherapy. I belong to the Scientific Section of Psychotherapy of the Polish Psychiatric Association and the Polish Association for Infant Mental Health.
I work in accordance with the Ethical and Professional Code for psychologists and psychotherapists, and I regularly undergo both individual and group supervision. I work psychodynamically, attentively and often long-term, combining neuropsychology with psychological and psychotherapeutic knowledge.
I have worked in the profession for 14 years.
Professional experience
I began my professional work with psychological counselling and crisis support. For several years, I worked at the Centre for Specialist Counselling and Crisis Intervention, with children, adolescents and adults. I completed a one-year course in crisis intervention at the Lower Silesian Centre for Psychotherapy in Wrocław.
I also worked for two years in hospital departments of gynaecology, pregnancy pathology and obstetrics, supporting women through different experiences of motherhood, including sudden and acute crises. Since working in the hospital, that is, since 2015, I have continuously provided perinatal psychological support — mainly individually, as well as through workshops and support for couples.
I have run my own private practice for 9 years. My office-based experience includes psychotherapy for adults, children and adolescents, psychological support, and help during the early stages of parenthood with understanding and building mutual bonds with an infant. I provide consultations for parents whose children receive psychological support or psychotherapy from me.
I continue to gain professional experience by working for more than 10 years in mental health clinics for adults, children and adolescents. For the past two years, I have also led a team of specialists at a psychological and psychotherapeutic clinic for children and adolescents funded by the National Health Fund (NFZ) in Sędziszów Małopolski.
My experience also includes several years of work at a rehabilitation, education and care centre and at an association supporting children with disabilities, as well as teaching psychology at a higher-education institution.
Qualifications
I completed a five-year integrated master’s degree in psychology at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in Mediterranean Studies, which gives me a broader perspective for understanding cultural, social and language differences.
I completed a four-year psychodynamic psychotherapy course organised at the Department of Personality and Neurosis Disorders Treatment at Babiński Hospital in Kraków. I have been practising psychotherapy for 11 years, since the second year of the psychotherapy course.
I also completed a two-year supplementary course in child and adolescent psychotherapy, also organised by Babiński Hospital in Kraków. Both psychotherapy programmes are accredited by the Scientific Section of Psychotherapy of the Polish Psychiatric Association.
For the past five years, I have participated in a theoretical seminar combined with group supervision, led by a psychoanalyst of the Polish Psychoanalytic Society.
For three years, I took part in a seminar combined with group supervision on therapeutic work with infants and their parents, supporting their mutual bonds. The seminar was led by psychoanalysts from the Anna Freud Centre in Britain.
I have undertaken many years of personal therapeutic work and supervision. This means that my work with different age groups is grounded in an understanding of deep psychological processes.
